Description

It is the end of Wayeb, the unlucky days. Tonight, the King of Tikal holds a celebration to mark the start of the next solar year. With ambassadors from neighbouring kingdoms as special guests, it should be an entertaining and festive evening for all.

However, this year won't be the usual decadent affair. Tikal is in the grips of the worst drought in the history of her people; cloudless skies have bought no rain & the sun dries up the land. Food is scarce, and the people are on edge. The priests have been locked up in their temples the past week, as many of the pious have locked themselves in their houses. There is talk, even amongst the common folk, of bad omens. Time has shifted, night has been like day, the birds have been silent. Some have been overheard speaking of a struggle between demons & gods, followed by the end of days. With no food to appease the spirits, people fear the worst is yet to come. And so they should!

With the world's fate in the hands of the people, will your actions influence the new year's fortunes? Will the new year come at all? Decide your fate.
