The heiress Amy Geddon has opened her home for the first time since her husband's tragic murder. While ostensibly a gathering of her friends and family, tensions run just below the surface as rival mob factions shceme to bring one another down, a celebrated medium of the popular Spiritualist movement and her followers struggle to retain her reputation and avoid persecution from those in religious authority, the mystery of Mr. Geddon's death unravels, and the press plots to expose every last dirty little secret in the room.
