Hi! So, I've not really touched this website for years. It's fallen into disrepair and it would be irresponsible of me to pretend I'll ever have time to work on it again.

So, I'm going to mothball the site/set it to read-only. I've disabled the login links because they stopped working any I don't remember enough about how the site works to figure out how to fix them.

If any thing *really* needs updating (deadnaming-level stuff), let me know and I'll go in on the backend and make changes.

Description

Some stories are never forgotten.

On the western coast of Ireland, companions gather at a lighthouse to feel the magic of Halloween. It is a night of revelry and connections, of secrets and decisions, and, above all, of stories.

A reveler in an owl mask tells a vibrant tale of wolves that run at night. From beneath a faerie costume, a guest speaks of a secret selkie kingdom hidden beneath the very waters. Others in robes and sheepdog costumes speak of anything from the lost way to Tir na n’Og to the tales of a mysterious illuminator and a book that “turns darkness into light”. But through the cheer and merriment, the revelers appear distracted, as if waiting for something, as if listening for something.

Will they hear the selkie’s song?

For there is truth in these stories, and, just as their costumes and masks hide the revelers’ identities, the mundane face of the world conceals secrets of its own. Places full of that which has been lost, waiting to be uncovered, yearning to be experienced again.

Song of the Sea is a larp in loving memory of Kevin Munn, who loved Irish Folklore, celtic knots, and the movie of this namesake. “Kevin” in Irish is “Caoimhín”, which means “gentle”.

Players can expect high amounts of interpersonal connections and conversatkons and adventuring together to explore the wonders of Irish myth in quest format. There will be sea shanties sang, monsters fought, celtic knots tied, and more!

Song of the Sea is written by Alison Joy Schafer, with special acknowledgements to David Kotsonis (Editing), Adina Schreiber (Art), Julie Diewald (Visual Layout), and Kevin Munn (Art).

This game will ask all players to wear a facemask at all times, with the exception of a snack and drink table in the far corner for quick breaks at the Halloween Party. Please remain masked when interacting or speaking with any other players.
