Players

Hi! So, I've not really touched this website for years. It's fallen into disrepair and it would be irresponsible of me to pretend I'll ever have time to work on it again.

So, I'm going to mothball the site/set it to read-only. I've disabled the login links because they stopped working any I don't remember enough about how the site works to figure out how to fix them.

If any thing *really* needs updating (deadnaming-level stuff), let me know and I'll go in on the backend and make changes.

Description

A group of young people meet at university and become friends. Each of them knows they are not like most people; each is struggling to accept themselves and be accepted for who they are. As their lives unfold and they grow into themselves, they will be there for each other, through good times and bad.

Born This Way is a four-hour LARP for 4-6 players about queer friendships and the importance of chosen family. The game is intended to explore themes of acceptance, identity, relationships, and expression, and how those things evolve throughout our lives.

Character outlines are given, and players will expand upon these in the initial workshops. Play will take place with a series of scenes in different eras as the characters get older.

Any player who wants to respectfully explore LGBTQIA+ experiences and learn a little bit about recent UK history (though of course playing this game will not and cannot make you an expert) is welcome; there are handouts describing a bit about the historical context and some possible identifiers that LGBTQIA+ people may use to describe themselves.
