Description

by callum upton

“It was the dawn of the third age of mankind – ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. The Babylon Project was a dream, given form. Its goal: to prevent another war, by creating a place where humans and aliens can work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call – home away from home – for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Humans and aliens, wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal . . . all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last best hope for peace.” - Jeffrey Sinclair

The year is 2259. The name of the place is Babylon 5.

“Where am I, and who are all these strangers? Hang on, how did I get here? This looks like some abandoned bar. Have I ended up in down below? Someone has to know what's going on here. Wait, some of you are familiar.” - Your first thoughts on waking up.

A Night In Babylon is about twelve strangers who wake up in a strange place, everyone has their secrets, and perhaps not everyone is strangers to each other. Why are you all here? How did you get here? Using what and whom you know, explore old relationships, make new friends, and maybe just find out what in the heck is going on.

This LARP is set against the universe backdrop of Babylon 5 in the year 2259 (The Shows Second Season). There are 12 Player Characters in "A Night In Babylon". These have been written deliberately as gender unspecified, and so players are free to interpret and present their character with any gender identity they feel comfortable in doing so.

This LARP, it's setting and the Babylon 5 Universe may contain triggers for some people. I have done my best to list all that may make an appearance in the Game or in Backstories.
  • Arguments
  • Racism (Species-ism)
  • War
  • Death/Murder
  • Violence

This LARP has been written in the Babylon 5 universe as one of the many untold stories from the last of the Babylon stations. This is an unlicensed fan LARP, all of the player characters and stories are original and written for this LARP. However the setting, references to some NPC's and sections of some backstories are the IP of writer and producer J. Michael Straczynski, under the Babylonian Productions label, in association with Straczynski's Synthetic Worlds Ltd. and Warner Bros. Domestic Television.
