Midwinter is a difficult time in the human kingdoms of Midgaard. While Odin and his sons may find sport throughout all the worlds of creation, human kings and their subjects must sit in their long halls, reliving past glories and waiting for the spring. Midwinter is thus a time to rejoice, a turning point of the seasons. In a castle on a cliff above a frozen river, a human king awaits the guests for his feast...but there is a saying: if wars are fought in spring, they are certainly planned in winter.
